The Orion AES/SPDIF digital ultra-high performance cable is specifically designed to conduct a digital signal through a cable with BNC, RCA, or XLR terminations.

The Orion AES/SPDIF digital ultra-high performance cable is specifically designed to conduct a digital signal through a cable with BNC, RCA, or XLR terminations. Incorporating solid silver conductors supported in an air tube suspension with a mechanical vibration dampening system reduces jitter and wander. The shielding of the Orion cable is a multi-layer thin film design. This approach shields the signal from high frequency EMI present in the environment. The overall design exceeds the interface specification, resulting in less DAC interpolation and increasing the accuracy of the recreated analog signal.

The TReK was designed as a no holds barred ultra-performance USB cable. The TReK incorporates two new design concepts: Dragon Skin shielding, a multi-layer electrical insulator, and a new connector pin design.

The Dragon Skin shielding concept protects the signal from EMI in the environment across a wide spectrum, from very low to high frequencies. The shielding is multi-layered thin film creating an extremely effective EMI barrier.

The conductors are sealed in an electrical insulator comprised of a multi-layered composite designed to minimize the effects of mechanical vibration on the signal. This approach reduces jitter and wander.

The last design innovation of the TReK is the fabrication of the data pins of the connector from the silver conductors of the cable. Fabricating the connector pins from the conductor eliminates the junction between the signal conductors and the connector pins which inherently improves signal conduction.

Shielding

The shielding method employed in EnKlein products is passive and not within the signal path. The shield acts as an extension of the metallic casing used for high end audio equipment. Within the audio equipment, power and signal paths are controlled by the designer. The same requirements are needed for the externally exposed portion of the signal path in any audio system, the cables!

We have taken our engineers experience in developing thin film shielding materials, power generation, signal transmission, and grounding technology adapting these for use in the analog and digital audio frequency ranges. The method is simple; "control, transform and dissipate the energy". Enklein uses a multi-layer thin film approach to shielding which is integrated with the electrical insulators to achieve an extremely low noise floor and eliminate or reduce cable resonance.

Forward Feed Shielding

Enklein is the leader in “Forward Feed Shielding” technology (patent pending); which reduces or eliminates electromagnetic interference (EMI) by dissipating shield energy collected by the shielding network through a proprietary shield energy dissipation controller. By using a forward feeding shield energy dissipation design, EMI, distortion, and signal variations are dissipated to ground by a method which does not influence the signal.

Dragon Skin

Dragon Skin is a revolutionary shielding development which further enhances our approach to high tech shielding. The Dragon Skin concept is a 4 part shield topology using; “Super Metals” alloys of Cobalt and Nickel, aluminum, copper, and steel. Dragon Skin electromagnetic shielding protects the signal from outside EMI and reduces EMI generated by the cable itself. Eliminating or reducing the electromagnetic influence between cables reduces the noise floor introduced by the cables of an audio system. Each layer is specifically designed for each cable type to perform a specific task, and when added together creates an extremely effective electromagnetic barrier.

With the noise reduction/elimination from external appliances, and reactance between the cables lowered; the music has an environment to survive transmission from one component to another without alteration.

Elimination of pin/conductor interfaces, the Dragon Skin shielding concept, and the proprietary electrical insulator topology yields an extraordinary high performance USB cable.

The Expression Series is the equal of many well-respected top-of-the-line cables, possibly bested only by our own Emotion ensemble.

During a certain phase of our development and testing, when we first heard these cables, we knew we had something that challenged the state-of-the-art. Something that would compete with almost anything made. Something we would have a hard time improving upon.

In fact, it was at this point in the development of OptimiZ™ Architecture where the ideas were spawned that led to the Emotion Series; refinements of the design of the Expression cables.

It was also at this stage that we began to solicit input from audiophiles and dealers. These are the first cables others heard, and, the story is much the same – instantaneous recognition of something being right about the music. We were told it was coherent, harmonically accurate, detailed, extended, open, rhythmic, and sweet.

In a blind test, three different developmental versions of this series were chosen over some of the most expensive and respected cables available; and the final version we brought to market performs better than any of those three!
